Sponsor Your Family Members

Canada places special emphasis on reuniting you with your family members. In 2018 more than 85000 family members were reunited.

Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada or registered Indians under the Indian Act who are 18 years old are able to sponsor their family members to come to Canada.

To sponsor, you must live in Canada or provide evidence that you will live in Canada once the person you are sponsoring becomes a permanent resident. You and your family member must also sign a sponsorship agreement. The terms of the agreement vary depending on which family members you are sponsoring.

Family members you can sponsor -
